Welfare Benefits Advice
Our trained welfare benefit advisor at Apex is able to offer independent and impartial advice on all types of welfare benefits both for people making new claims and those with existing claims. Currently the service is only open to ex-offenders although this may change at a later date. The service in free of charge.
Working on an appointment bases our welfare benefit advisor can help you with:
- Identifying the best types of benefits that you should claim depending on your circumstances
- Making a new claim to benefit and the different procedures involved for each type of benefit
- Completing claim forms and making sure the claim is processed as quickly as possible
- Advice regarding letters you have received or changes that have occurred in your benefit payments
- Maximising your entitlement to benefits
- Making ‘better off calculations’ such as estimating Tax Credit awards in order to assess the financial benefits of returning to work
- Advocating on your behalf if you feel your benefit decision is wrong including representation at tribunals or county court

As well as welfare benefit advice we are able to provide basic advice on other types of financial issues you may have such as with housing or dept. If we are not able to provide the necessary advice on these issues we will put you in touch with the best organisation that can, their services will also be provide free of charge.
