Information, Advice & Guidance
We provide information, advice & guidance to disadvantaged adults aged between 16 and 65. Our advisors are experienced in providing advice and guidance through to continuous training, meeting your needs to enhance your personal development.
You will receive an impartial, confidential and professional service in a friendly, relaxed environment. This service is available free.
- Our advisors will support you whilst exploring options and making choices. This will include a one to one assessment of your needs including building on prior achievements.
- Engage you in to life long learning.
- Provide guidance on completion of application forms, CV's, study techniques and learning styles.
- Link into a variety of provider services to find the right training & career for you. Advice will be given on all relevant courses, whether accredited or not.
We also offer advice on job searching, employment preparation and college courses.

Specialist Help for Ex-offenders currently under Probation supervision
Apex assists people with convictions to find suitable employment, education or training. Our fully trained advisors provide an impartial, confidential and professional service on:
- Advice and guidance in employment, education and training.
- Find relevant training or education information.
- Source loans and grants for training or courses.
- Assist with self employment.
- Help with CV writing to make the most of your skills.
- Assist with job search.
- Provide advice on what convictions need to be disclosed & how to disclose them.
- Liaise with the Probation Service on your behalf.
- Offer free computer training and basic skills courses.
The Programme Centre;
The Programme Centre is linked directly to the local Jobcentres in Leicester and Loughborough and it offers support for those who have been on benefit for over six months. (Download pdf)
It offers tailored job search support through a package of bite sized modules, designed to suit the needs of the individual. In addition, people who are signed to the Programme Centre can make use of the drop in job search facility, which allows you use the facilities with the help of our professional staff to:
- Fill in application forms
- Receive career advice & guidance
- Write letters of application
- Find information on certain jobs
- Research companies via the resources available
- E mail CV's
We also provide the use of weekly newspapers, free telephone for job search, stamps, paper and envelopes to aid your search into employment.
