Apex Works was set up as a registered charity in Leicester in 1982.
Our service users now come from all sorts of backgrounds and communities – the one thing they have in common is that they all face some barriers or difficulties to finding training, skills and employment. We pride ourselves in helping them change their lives.
The same values and commitment we started with are still at the heart of everything we do – to support and empower people with different needs who face barriers to getting work.
In 2013-14, we supported 1,254 disadvantaged people, offering them the opportunities to achieve their potential in learning, work and life.

We will be the leading regional organisation offering opportunities to vulnerable and marginalised people to achieve their aims through learning and work and contribute to their wider communities. We provide value for money and measurable outcomes for service users and partners.
We aim to raise aspirations of people who face barriers by:
- Supporting progress
- Offering opportunity
- Embracing diversity
- Working in partnership
Wake Up to Values Project:
This year our staff at Apex took part in the Wake Up to Values project run by the UK Values Alliance. The purpose of the Wake Up to Values Project is to build a better UK society by helping individuals and organisations to live their values.
Whilst on the project, we identified our key personal and professional values and created a behaviour and actions framework in order to incorporate them into everything we do at Apex. The values we chose as being the most important to us were; Achievement, Customer Satisfaction, Financial Stability, Respect and Support.
